Director’s Message

This will be my twelfth year to have the privilege of serving on The Board of Directors of The Louisiana Trooper Foundation representing Troop G. Troop G is comprised of the parishes of Caddo, Bossier, Webster, Claiborne, DeSoto, Red River and Bienville. I have served on many boards, but I can truly say that this has been one of my most rewarding.

The Louisiana State Trooper Association, Troop G, has enjoyed enormous success in their fundraising efforts over the last several years. This is due largely to the great amount of time and effort put into hosting the annual “Shoot for the Blue” sporting clays event. If it were not for the hard work of the Advisory Committee, Troopers themselves and most importantly the spouses and families of Troopers that volunteer for this event, it would not be possible. I would like to thank each of them personally for their contributions of time, hard work, and their resources.

Due to the support of our Founder’s Club Sponsor, Willis-Knighton Health Systems, we have been able to meet many of our goals supporting various needs and causes in our area. This also would not have been possible without our Colonel’s Club Sponsors. These include Rose-Neath Funeral Homes, Fairview Trucking, Testament Construction, Meridian Timber, Yokem Toyota, Roy O. Martin, Red River Range, Select Energy Services, Ryan E. Gatti, and the Bossier Healthcare Foundation.  Completing the list of our Corporate Sponsors are our Captain’s Club. This would include The Woods Group, Britt Choate, Martin Transport, Gibsland Bank & Trust, and Chris Turner for House of Representative District 9.

I would also like to thank all of the companies and individuals that have donated door prizes and auction items. Through the efforts of everyone mentioned above, the “Shoot for the Blue” has become the premier sporting clays fundraiser in Louisiana. The Foundation has been able to continue their support of the community through events like Kids Camps and a cookout for the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Home in Bossier City. We have also been able to provide “Active Shooter Vests” and tactical lifesaving equipment for all Troopers in the Troop G area.  Your financial support also provides free child safety seats to military personnel through the Airmen’s Attic at Barksdale Air Force Base.

If you are not already part of this event I would encourage you to become active in your support of Troop G and the “Shoot for the Blue” event. I think that you, as I have, will find this to be a very rewarding experience. This event provides an opportunity for you to get to know your state troopers.  Through your participation and contributions, we will help sustain the State Police as Louisiana’s premier law enforcement agency.
